A Little About Us!
Shankara Jewellery was started by Trish & Peter McCracken in 2008 and was originally
named “Just Silver”. As our business grew and the Jewellery that we sold changed
we found we were moving away from selling only Sterling Silver Jewellery. In 2012 we
decided that the name “Just Silver” was no longer descriptive of our Jewellery business.
In an effort to show our integrity and in line with our ethics we decided to change our name.
After many days of discussions, web searches, and editing of possibilities, we came to a
to a decision, our new name would be “Shankara“.
Now that we have a new name, I am sure you would like to know the meaning.
“To Dispels Doubt”
“To be Spontaneous and Versatile”
“To Enjoying Congenial Association”
“To Appreciate the Finer things of Life”
“To Love to Talk and Debate”
We now carry over 4000 items including Silver, Stainless Steel, Tungsten, Watches, and other fashion accessories. We specialise in quality jewellery and are always looking for new and innovative styles.
In September 2013 we also added Semi-precious stones and beads to our line-up as well as beaders and jewellery tools.
With the change in people’s attitudes towards jewellery, specifically, the interest in Fashion Jewellery over the last few years, our quality jewellery has taken on a life of its own.
We carry an incredible range of rings, with between 800 and a 1000 in stock at any time. These include Silver, Stainless Steel, and Tungsten rings. In the future we will also be looking at Titanium and Ceramic rings. Shankara Jewellery also runs Jewellery Events in the Auckland and surrounding areas.
We now carry a range of semi-precious gemstones in the form of beads, cabochones and pendants, as well as, wire and stringing material, and tools for beading.
Many people know us from the Matakana Country Park Market, Matakana Dairy Factory Market, and the Takapuna Market, as well as the Mission Bay Market, the Tairua Wine and Food Festival, the Kowhai Festival in Warkworth, and the Keltic Fair in Coromandel, just to name a few.
If you are interested in having us at your event, just let us know.
